May 16-17 Events!

Saturday evening Benny and I were Steve's guests at Gateway's Mothers Day event. Catherine went to Lake of the Ozarks to celebrate her niece's birthday...an all girl event) We had a delicious steak dinner, plus all the trimmings and cheese cake for dessert. The lovely decorated multi-purpose room and old friends made it a nice evening. We had not been there since David left...was difficult seeing some changes but our welcome made us feel loved. The speaker was a mother of twins. One had physical and mental challenges and the other was fine. She told how the family, school, and church coped with the son's disability and how the community helped the family. The daughter graduated from college this week and is doing well. The son is finding opportunities to be successful also even through his challenges.
Today Dad preached and sang and did a great job. When we arrived at church we discovered the adult class didn't have a teacher so he taught the 23rd Psalm...my favorite. I played the organ, a funny spinet type, but got through it, ha! We came home finding ourselves doing various chores. I worked outside, Dad painted half of the garage, and then we ended the evening playing the organ and piano. Talked to some of the kids...always a joy. It is bedtime and we are ready. Have a great week!

I love your flexibility and availability. What a great example for those around you and for those who read about it!
