June 28th - What A Day!

Today is Benny's birthday. It was also the last day for John Wiley, minister of Seymour Christian, and the beginning interim ministry for us. Church went well as John and Nancy's 10 year ministry was celebrated. Then came a scrumptious pot-luck dinner with catfish as the main calling card.

On the way home from church, we stopped at the grocery store where I picked up a big cake (half white and half chocolate, done in blue...Benny's favorite color) that said, Happy Birthday, Benny...#75. He was shocked! From 3-5:00 people (about 50) came to wish him a happy day. Neighbors, people from Gateway, Marshfield, and Seymour churches plus family made the day very special. Then there were the many phone calls...that are still coming. Oh yes, what joy we had reading cards with delightful messages. It was fun planning something that really was a surprise. God has blessed him in so many wonderful ways and I am so grateful. Have a happy week, smile much, and love lots.
